The Indianapolis 500, also known as Indy 500, is considered as one of the three major motorsports event in the world, the other two being the Monaco Grand Prix and the 24 Hours of Le Mans. The Indy 500 is often called the greatest spectacle in racing.

On the other hand, Tag Heuer Formula 1 watches are widely known as one of the greatest timepieces on earth. Tag Heuer was credited with developing the first dashboard stopwatch utilized for racing cars. This watch follows the same tradition as it offers remarkable racing functionality with the 1/10 second chronograph resolution and split/add time functions. In addition, a tachymeter scale is included to facilitate calculation of speed, time, and distance.

This TAG Heuer Formula 1 watch measures 44 mm in diameter and 12.5 mm thick. The watch case is made of solid fine brushed and polished stainless steel. The solid engraved stainless steel caseback is a screwdown-type.

The stationary bezel of the Tag Heuer Formula 1 Indy 500 is constructed using solid stainless steel. A tachymeter scale is engraved on the bezel surface. The numbers are fine brushed and raised to improve readability.

The screwdown crown is conveniently located in the 3 o'clock position and is protected with metal bumpers. Two (2) chrono pushers are placed on the 2 and 4 o'clock position. Meanwhile, a twin O-ring seals the crown and guards it from water, dust, and other contaminants. The dial window of this TAG Heuer Formula 1 watch features a scratch-resistant, anti-reflective sapphire crystal.

Precision Swiss quartz analog watch movement is made possible with the battery powered Ronda caliber 5040B. The minute and hour hands are illuminated with SuperLumiNova paint for easy reading in low light conditions. There are two subdials capable of registering 1/10 second resolution and 30 minutes while in chronograph mode. The chronograph provides the following: 1/10 second resolution, 1 second resolution via a central sweep hand, 30-minute range, as well as add and split time functions.

This TAG Heuer Formula 1 watch is designed to withstand pressures up to 20 atm and keeps water out up to 200 meters (660 feet). This makes the Tag Heuer Formula 1 Indy 500 is suitable for water activities such as swimming, snorkeling, and skin diving. However, this watch is not recommended for diving at depths and pressure more than its rated value.
