How important is floral designs in the lives of people? For one, people have been using flowers for designs within and outside their home. When it comes to flower arrangements, there are various types that one can choose from; each type of arrangement having their own elegance that can liven up the room and occasion. There are 8 types of flower arrangements that you can choose from. There's the Vertical arrangement, Horizontal arrangement, Triangular arrangement, Crescent, Lazy 'S', Oval, Minimal and Free Standing floral arrangements. These are just the 8 simple flower designs that you can choose from. As time goes by, florists come up with new and different types of floral décor.

The most common of floral arrangements would be the Vertical arrangement, where the flowers and fillers are arrange vertically upright into a vase. You can find this kind of flower arrangement in hotels only with various types of flowers. Another would be the horizontal arrangement where the flowers are placed into a small, shallow container with line flowers spread on both sides of the vase like an open book. The focal flower (usually a rose or something that should stand out from the filler flowers) is positioned in the middle, filler flowers like Baby's breath or any other tiny white flowers you can think of are filled in around the focal flower.

The crescent flower arrangement is one of the most elegant choices of floral design. In this design you will need a curved line flower or leaves that follow the form of a crescent after which, the focal flowers are placed in the bowl at the lower part of the design. This allows you to achieve the desired balance, depth and stability. Filler foliage and flowers are then added around the focal flower to finish off these floral arrangements.

The Oval arrangement is fairly simple, almost like the vertical arrangement but this follows the form of an oval. First you have to determine the height with your flowers and frame the outer edges to create the oval shape with light shades of foliage and fillers. Taking the largest and the strongest colored flower, insert this in the middle making it the focal flower. Fillers and foliage are added afterwards.
