Canvas photos are now slowly becoming famous due to its unique and artistic appearance. Creating and looking at such a picture can be a fun experience. Your favorite photograph can be transferred into canvas and may appear like a real painting. You will just need your computer, a high-tech inkjet printer, canvas paper and your picture which must be lesser than 8.5 inches x 11 inches so as to fit the standard inkjet printer. Your printer must have settings for different types of paper such as canvas.

The first thing to do in order to have canvas photos is to look for canvas paper. You can go to the manufacturer of your printer, especially if the latter is designed to print on canvas. You can also go to an office and school supplies store and computer shops. Make sure to have enough paper just in case you need to make a few tries in printing.

Before printing a photo, place a canvas paper on the printer so you could print a sample page. Make sure you place the print side of the canvas paper inside the printer for correct printing. Make sure you click on the draft or demo page on the printer settings for your sample page. Aside from saving ink, this will make you check if the canvas paper is well-matched with your printer and if it is loaded properly.

On your computer, load and save your picture. Afterwards, go to the print options and the settings. Make sure to alter the paper type and change the setting into the heaviest paper there is such as specialty paper. The quality of the print should also be set in the highest setting. Press the print button to produce your canvas photos. After printing, make sure the canvas dries off before touching it so as to avoid smudging. You can then place your finished product into a wood frame and display this the way you would a painting.

Make sure to print your picture a few times so as to arrive at the right settings. First, test with the kind of paper you have. Next, test for the quality of the print. If you choose the highest quality setting, you may find your photo with too much ink thus making it look unsightly instead.

If an 8.5 x 11 inch photo is too small for you, you can go to a professional canvas photos company. They can print your photo into a bigger size. You need to ensure however that the picture you bring to them is of high resolution. Based on the resolution of your picture, the company would be able to tell you what size is appropriate.

You can use any picture you prefer aside from your own. You can give this as a gift to people close to you and they are sure to appreciate it. Canvas photos will make a special present as not everybody knows that this kind of art exists.
