The title of this article might seem silly. After all, perfumes are simply applied on the skin - there's nothing complicated about it. Even elementary children have a fairly good idea of how to use scents to make themselves more presentable. However, what most people don't know is that there really is a science to using perfume. Although spaying them all over the body works, there's an even more effective method of utilizing their scents that would ensure full impact. That being said, following are some tips on how to maximize a perfume's potential.

Amount

The number of perfume sprays used usually depends on how strong the scent is. If the concentration is around 40%, then one simple spray should do it. However, lesser amounts might necessitate more sprays. The basic rule is that the perfume must have a smell that only encompasses 6 to 7 feet. Anymore than that and the smell is no longer a pleasant distraction.

Spray on Pulse Points

Although perfumes are not exclusively used on pulse points, they are the best areas to spray the scent. Some people believe that the subtle pulsing in these points help distribute the fragrance worn by the individual. Some of these body parts include the wrists, behind the ears and the neck. Basically though, it can be any body part where a major blood vessel is located. Note that perfumes should be used depending on the occasion. For social events, the neck, behind the ears and sometimes even the chin are the best body parts to spray on. For those going on a date, more scent on the wrists and near the chest is also welcome.

Spray on the Air

Spraying the perfume in the air and then immediately stepping in it is one of the most popular techniques used by women today. The purpose of this is to evenly distribute the perfume all over the body, therefore ensuring that the scent isn't simply concentrated on one spot. Some people choose to do this while still in their underwear while others opt to wear their clothes before the exercise. Either way, the scent stays.

Perfume on the Hair

Spraying perfume on the hair not only lets it last more but also aids the dispersion. With loose hair usually being lifted and hit by air, it isn't surprising if more people catch the scent coming from this body part than anywhere else. One quick spray should do it, preferably near the crown.

Of course, keep in mind that all these techniques wouldn't work if a person is not wearing a perfume that fits their personality. The potency of a perfume may actually change depending on the person wearing them, which makes it crucial for individuals to choose the best perfume that would suit their current need. For example, business meetings would require something subtle and simple while dates might necessitate something light and flirty. This is why users are always advised to choose the best perfumes that would complement their needs and personality.
